It’s almost March 23rd! Now, it might not be obvious why this is an important date. But for those of us in the snacking community (which includes you, Crunch Crew!), it’s a big deal. It’s National Chips and Dip Day! We think it’s pretty safe to say we’ve all enjoyed chips and dip–it’s a staple at every social gathering, and it’s super versatile too. From casual family get-togethers to fancy dinner parties, chips and dip can take on many forms. At John Wm. Macy’s, we’re big believers in adding an extra crunch to your snacking experience. So here’s our take on how you can reinvent classic chips and dip with John Wm. Macy’s CheeseCrisps!

Salsa

Spicin’ It Up

We’ve all enjoyed the classic chips and dip combo of salsa with tortilla chips, but let’s spice things up a bit (and add a little cheese). Pair our Chipotle & Cheddar CheeseCrisps with your favorite tomato-based salsa or guacamole for a flavor party in your mouth! We crafted these crisps by combining our signature sourdough with diced chipotle peppers and a delicious cheddar and asiago cheese blend for a flavor profile unlike anything you’ve experienced before. The kick of the peppers alongside the guacamole or salsa balances out beautifully with the savory cheese and sourdough. If you and your friends are spice lovers, this is the perfect kind of chips and dip for you.

French Onion Dip To Die For

Is there anything yummier than a rich, delicious french onion dip? Yes, it’s when you pair it with John Wm. Macy’s Asiago & Cheddar CheeseCrisps instead of potato chips and make the dip from scratch! Now, don’t be intimidated. It’s actually not too complicated to make french onion dip from scratch for your chips and dip appetizer. The creaminess of this dip pairs perfectly with the saltiness of our crisps and the seasonings in both the chips and dip complement each other beautifully (we’re looking at you, cayenne!). In case you need guidance, we’ve found a great recipe we’ll share here.

French Onion Soup

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 ½ cups diced onions
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream

Directions:

Melt butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Then, add your onions and all your seasonings. Cook for 5 minutes. Then, cook on medium low heat for 20-25 minutes. Remove from the stove. Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Combine with the onions and mix. Refrigerate to cool and serve at room temperature with Asiago & Cheddar CheeseCrisps!

Double the Cheesiness: Melting Romano CheeseCrisps & Buffalo Chicken Dip

If you know us, you know that we don’t believe anything can ever be ‘too cheesy’! We’re here to prove it by convincing you to try dunking our light, buttery, and just cheesy enough Melting Romano CheeseCrisps in your favorite buffalo chicken dip. The flavor of these CheeseCrisps is understated and never overpowering, making them the perfect partner in snacking for your rich, delicious, and probably a little spicy dip. This is chips and dip truly elevated!

There are countless ways to celebrate National Chips and Dip Day, so no matter how you celebrate we hope you enjoy time with family and friends with good food at the center. As always, those are the things that matter the most. Have fun chipping and dipping, Crunch Crew!
